Dezi 5 is a Texas-born, Dallas-based genre-bending artist, performer, and cultural curator redefining modern Southern soul through an American Roots lens. Raised in the heart of Deep Ellum, his artistry is shaped by the grit, glamour, and independence of Dallas—where music, fashion, and community collide.
Blending soul, funk, rock, blues, and American Roots influences, Dezi 5’s sound—often described as Texas Soul—is bold, emotional, and unapologetically honest. His live performances are immersive and high-energy, pairing raw vocals with magnetic movement and a commanding stage presence that leaves audiences feeling connected and alive.
In 2024, Dezi released his debut album Dirty Laundry, a deeply personal project exploring love, vulnerability, self-acceptance, and personal evolution. The album marked a turning point in his artistic journey and later expanded into Dirty Laundry: Unfolded, a deluxe vinyl release that further showcased his depth as a songwriter and producer.
Beyond the stage, Dezi 5 is a respected leader in the Dallas creative community. He is the founder and executive director of the Dallas Entertainment Awards, an annual celebration uplifting local artists, creatives, and cultural workers. Through this work, he continues to build bridges between independent artists, venues, media, and civic partners—positioning Dallas as a vital cultural hub.
Dezi 5 has shared stages with and opened for national acts including Keith Urban, Gavin DeGraw, Big Freedia, and Big & Rich, and has been featured by the Dallas Observer and Good Morning Dallas. Whether performing at iconic venues, curating community-driven events, or pushing boundaries in the studio, his mission remains the same: to create music and moments rooted in truth, community, and the evolving sound of Texas.
Rooted in Dallas. Built for bigger stages.
